Orchestry Updates for October 2024 | Part 3

These improvements were deployed on October 24, 2024.

To benefit from the updates to the Orchestry Web Parts, this update requires an Administrator to update the Teams App package in Orchestry Installation. 

Improvements

  • Provisioning Engine Renamed 'General' Channel: When provisioning Teams workspaces using a live template that has had its General channel renamed, Orchestry will correctly pick up this change and not provision an additional channel and instead rename the General channel to correspond with the template. For the Microsoft announcement of this new feature see Give a custom name to the General channel.

Workspace Directory Web Part: Attention all SharePoint fans! The Workspace Directory Web Part will now supports the ability to configure whether the Directory and/or the Directory Favourites are shown. This gives you additional flexibility in how you want to use this web part.

For instance, you may want to allow users to access their Directory Favourites from the home page of your Intranet, while allowing them to access the full Directory experience via a dedicated page (as the Directory needs some space to breathe 😁).

Please note, that two instances of the Directory web part cannot function on the same page together.

Workspace Information Web Part: Increased the maximum configurable height to 2500px.

Removed 'Viva Engage Delegate' from Provisioning: As promised in recent release notes, we have removed references to 'Viva Engage Delegate' in line with the change towards using the Viva Engage App-Only API. This delegate account is no longer required.

Bug Fixes

  • Team Information Web part: Fixed an issue with the Teams Information Web part showing inconsistent numbers for owners and members.
  • Incongruent Recommendation Counts: Fixed an issue where the workspace count was not matching between the Insight table and the related Recommendation.
  • Default picture in People Web Part incorrect: Fixed an issue where the default picture is incorrect for users without a profile image set.
  • Orchestry Web Parts missing icons: Fixed an issue where the display icons of the following web parts were not visible.
  • OOTB Content Type Clean Up: Fixed an issue where the content clean up could sometimes prevent the job from completing.
