These improvements were deployed on July 31st, 2024

Note that this update does not require your intervention and does not involve any downtime.

July has already been a huge month for Orchestry, releasing Health Checks, custom recommendations and partner tools.

We also released a number of a improvements for Health Checks.

New Features

Private Channel Archival Support

Orchestry archival policies now support Teams "Private Channels", ensuring all the amazing logic that Orchestry uses for your team will now also get applied to all the private channels in that workspace. This includes (within each private channel) :

  • Processing Documents
  • Extracting Lists
  • Extracting Metadata
  • Setting Site as Read Only No longer supported as of  January 2025
  • Removing Site from Search Index (and Copilot)
  • Change and Record Membership
  • Export Conversations
  • Delete Site

Copilot Recommendations

The first of many planned new recommendations from Orchestry focused on Copilot readiness and oversharing scenarios (the two going hand in hand) are now available.

These focus on sharing link activity to give you and your teams better visibility into this critical part of permission management. Stay tuned for many more recommendations that fit into this same category.

2024JUL31-3

Not only will we flag these issues, if they exist, we have also deployed two new reports that help give visibility into any of your workspaces where sharing links have been created in the past 180 days.

These can be accessed either via the Recommendations or by navigating to Insight Reports.

Improvements

  • Upgraded Planner API: Now that the App-Only version of the Planner API is available, we have moved Orchestry off the delegate version of the API – in line with our best practices. This will help ensure Planner functionality is more robust and does not depend on any user’s particular access.
  • Support for Content Type Hub: We now fully support provisioning Live Templates that include Content Types that are controlled in the Content Type Hub (Content Type Gallery). This was partially supported in the past but these Content Types would often not work correctly until a few hours had passed. Orchestry will now ensure these Content Types will sync upon provisioning. 🥳

  • OOTB Content Type Clean Up: We now check to see if the out-of-the-box (OOTB) “Document” or “Item” content types have been removed from a source library, and ensure the Live Templating removes these undesired content types during provisioning! 🥳
  • Recommendation of ‘Workspaces that are Inactive’: This recommendation will be renamed to “Workspaces that are candidates for archival” to make it more clear what the suggested action should be.

Bug Fixes

  • Requestor and Owner Minimum Count: Fixed an issue where the requestor was sometimes not being counted properly towards the minimum owners count in a provisioning request.
  • Requestor Missing from Request History: Fixed an issue where the requestor was sometimes not being displayed on the request history.
  • Recommendation Counts: Fixed an issue where different filters were causing recommendation counts of workspaces to be mis-aligned between recommendations and the Orchestry reports.
  • Recommendation of ‘No Hub Sites’: This recommendation has been updated to accounts for cases where existing hub sites were not being detected.
  • Temporary Guests Affecting Provisioning: Fixed an issue where guests were being cleaned up by Orchestry before a provisioning request was approved, causing issues with the provisioning of the workspace. This has been corrected to ensure any guests on pending workspace request are preserved.
  • API Test Bench: Fixed an issue that was causing the API test bench to not function correctly.
